About Wild Game Cook-Offs

Local AWF chapters host annual Wild Game Cook-Offs across the state and everyone is invited to participate! These competitions are excellent ways for backyard chefs to show off their culinary skills and enjoy some good ‘ol fashion fun, fellowship, and fabulous food.

If you prefer to eat rather than compete, come sample some of the area’s best wild game dishes. Winning delicacies in the past have included “Grilled Dove Breast,” “Smoked Venison with Cajun Wild Rice,” and “Flounder stuffed with Shrimp and Crab topped with a Butter Cream Sauce,” just to name a few.

Wild Game Cook-Off festivities often include a raffle and silent auction in addition to live entertainment.

Tickets for each Wild Game Cook-Off range between $35.00 and $50.00 per couple/person. The ticket price includes a one-year membership in the Alabama Wildlife Federation, a subscription to Alabama Wildlife magazine, and free samples of all of the wonderful wild game entries!

Cook teams are always needed! Entry for cook teams is FREE. All teams must pre-register prior to the day of the event. To register your cook team, please call AWF at 334.285.4550 or fill out the online form by clicking the link above.

Awards:

Best Overall Winner | Best Presentation | 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place in each Division | People’s Choice Award*
*not all Cook-Offs have a People’s Choice Award
